Nestled in the Aliyah (Imam Ali) district, just a few kilometers from Masjid Quba, the Garden of Salman Al‑Farsi (RA) is a site of deep spiritual and historical importance. It commemorates a remarkable moment in early Islamic history when Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) planted 300 date palms to help free his companion Salman Al‑Farsi (RA) from slavery.

As part of a unique arrangement, Salman agreed to pay his master forty ounces of gold and plant 300 date palms for his emancipation. The Prophet (PBUH) not only instructed him on how to do so but personally planted each date palm shoot by hand, symbolizing solidarity, mercy, and the collective spirit of the early Muslim community.

The site has been restored and preserved by the Madinah Region Development Authority, ensuring that its historical and spiritual essence remains intact. Key features include:

• Al-Faqir Well, associated with the original story of Salman’s freedom

• Freshly planted date palms, echoing the original plantation

• Iron fencing and paved pathways for visitor access

• Stone benches and interpretive signage offering context

• Tasting well water—a rare and memorable experience for many pilgrims
