Saudi Arabia Sponsors 20 Nigerian Pilgrims for Umrah

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has sponsored 20 Nigerian Muslims to perform the 2025 Umrah pilgrimage under the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques’ Guests Programme. This fully funded initiative, organized by the Saudi Ministry of Islamic Affairs, covers all travel, accommodation, and logistical expenses for the pilgrims.

The Saudi Ambassador to Nigeria, Faisal bin Ibrahim Al-Ghamdi, held a farewell ceremony in Abuja to officially send off the selected pilgrims. He emphasized that the program reflects the Kingdom’s commitment to serving Islam and strengthening ties with the global Muslim community. The gesture is part of Saudi Arabia’s ongoing efforts to promote unity, spiritual growth, and easier access to the holy sites of Makkah and Madinah.

The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques’ Guests Programme invites thousands of Muslims from around the world each year to perform Hajj or Umrah as honored guests of the Kingdom, under the leadership of King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.

This year’s inclusion of Nigerian pilgrims reaffirms Saudi Arabia’s role as a leader in Islamic outreach and religious hospitality.
